Description
Expand Your Skills. Explore New Environments. Become a More Confident Diver.
Ready to take the next step after earning your Open Water certification?
The SSI Advanced Open Water Diver program gives you the opportunity to experience five different specialty areas while building practical skills under the guidance of a Tri-City Scuba SSI Professional.
Rather than focusing on a single type of diving, this program introduces you to several new diving environments and techniques. You’ll complete one open-water training dive from each included specialty, giving you a better understanding of which areas of diving you may want to pursue further.
Your Five Specialty Dives
The Tri-City Scuba Advanced Open Water Diver program includes:
Deep Diving
Learn how depth affects your dive planning, air consumption, buoyancy, awareness, and equipment while developing the skills needed to explore deeper dive sites safely and confidently.
Navigation
Improve your ability to navigate underwater using a compass, natural references, distance estimation, and awareness of your surroundings.
Wreck Diving
Discover the fundamentals of safely exploring the outside of submerged wrecks while learning about wreck-diving procedures, potential hazards, and responsible diving practices.
Night & Limited Visibility
Experience an entirely different side of diving as you learn communication, light-handling, navigation, buddy procedures, and techniques for diving in darkness or reduced visibility.
Perfect Buoyancy
Refine your buoyancy, trim, breathing control, body position, and propulsion techniques so you can move more efficiently and comfortably through the water.
One Dive From Each Specialty
This program includes the introductory academic session and first open-water training dive from each of the five specialties.
Your completed training may be credited toward the corresponding full SSI Specialty certifications should you choose to continue your education later.
