During the SSI Navigation Course, you’ll learn how to use both natural and compass navigation techniques to chart your course underwater. We’ll cover concepts like navigation patterns, estimating distances, and how to return to your starting point safely.
Through a combination of academic sessions and open water dives, you’ll practice essential skills like reading a compass, navigating in low visibility, and combining natural references with your equipment. By the end of the course, you’ll feel confident in your ability to navigate like a pro.

Prerequisites
- Open Water Diver or equivalent
- Be medically fit and healthy to dive
- Minimum Age: 10
- Academic Sessions: Online learning/1 day in person

Required Equipment for class: BCD(Buoyancy Control Device, Regulator Set consisting of a 1st Stage, Primary Air Supply 2nd stage, Alternate Air Supply Octopus, Submersible Pressure Gauge(SPG) showing air remaining in tank, all hoses to hook to 1st stage. A computer that measures depth and dive time, weight bag, weights, boots, Mask, fins, snorkel, DSMB, gear bag, antifog, 2 double enders hardware to attach hoses and DSMB, Compass, and octo holder.
Tanks rental and Entry for open water dives are not included in this class.
