Beaufort, NC Wreck Diving Trip – Graveyard of the Atlantic

Join us for epic Beaufort, North Carolina wreck diving, just four hours from the shop, as we explore the legendary Graveyard of the Atlantic aboard the Outrageous V with Discovery Dive Center.

Diving out of Morehead City and Beaufort is truly unique. The Gulf Stream sweeps close to the North Carolina coast, bringing warm, blue water and abundant marine life—conditions unlike anywhere else from Maine to Florida. Expect historic wrecks, big structure, and the kind of diving that keeps people coming back year after year.

For 2026, we’ll be staying at the new Compass Hotel by Margaritaville Beaufort, a modern, comfortable waterfront hotel just minutes from downtown Beaufort. It’s an ideal home base after long dive days, with easy access to restaurants, the boardwalk, and everything Beaufort has to offer. Hotel is next to Discovery Dive Center and features 2 beds per room, outdoor pool, parking lot, restaurant and bar.

Required Certifications & Equipment

• Advanced Open Water Certification or a Advanced student taking classes
  (Deep certification or current Deep student required)

• Nitrox Certification

• You must be able to deploy a DSMB prior to trip

• Full basic dive gear including weights

• 5mm wetsuit recommended (hood not needed)

• Gloves

• Dive safety equipment: whistle, SMB, reel or spool

• Lights and cameras highly recommended

Important Information

Beaufort wreck diving is an ADVANCED trip. Some sites may experience mild to moderate current, and divers should be comfortable with boat diving and current management.

• Divers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian on dives

• If you are not a student diving with an instructor, you must have a dive buddy
  (We do not assign dive buddies.)

• We can teach boat diving, wreck, advanced wreck, and deep diving on this trip.  Call us to set up classes.
