Below are some of the skills you will learn with your new Mares Horizon. These skills are taught in a logical sequence where each each new skill builds upon a previous skill. The overall training schedule requires the following components:
The Safety Drill is performed before any SCR dive. This step helps insure your unit are ready to dive.
This skill will teach you how to properly remove and replace the loop.
During longer dives you may have condensation or saliva build up in the loop. This sill teaches you how to drain that out of the breathing loop.
In case of an emergency, you can always bail out to open circuit with the flip of a lever.
Another option is to bail out to an alternate second stage regulator.
This procedure demonstrates how to handle an out-of-gas emergency.
Hypoxia is a condition where the oxygen content becomes too low
Hyperoxia is when the oxygen content is too high for your current depth
Hypercapnia is the buildup of CO2 in the breathing loop.
This skill demonstrates how to remove and replace a cylinder.
When conducting Extended Range dives, you will have to make gas switches, switching between your bottom gas to a higher "richer" mix for decompression.
