Description
Course Overview
During the SSI Navigation program, you’ll learn how to use both natural and compass navigation techniques to chart your course underwater. We’ll cover concepts like navigation patterns, estimating distances, and how to return to your starting point safely.
Through a combination of academic sessions and open water dives, you’ll practice essential skills like reading a compass, navigating in low visibility, and combining natural references with your equipment. By the end of the course, you’ll feel confident in your ability to navigate like a pro.
The SSI Navigation specialty can be combined with other SSI courses to enhance your diving skillset. Don’t have your own compass? No worries! Our dive center provides all necessary equipment to complete the course.
